UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Hello escafeld.

I totally agree with all you have said in your "Off Topic" post. However, I think I may be able to clarify something.

What I've been hearing, and what I understand, is that Auran is not charging users for the content itself. Apparantly, the Auran server in Brisbane, Australia, has been overloaded during the Christmas/New Year period, hence the constant "Server appears to be full" message when downloading from CMP or TS2010 content updates.

Instead, you have two options.
1) Ride out the busy period and keep trying the DLS and CMP until you have a breakthrough.
2) Purchase a First Class Ticket and continue to download as usual.

My opinion is that Auran is strongly suggesting the second option to all users who do not already own a FCT. This seems incredibly unfair to those who can't afford one, or as hope5 mentioned, have no money at all. (I am also in that category, 15 in a couple of weeks)

So I ask Auran... is there any chance at all that the server will be re-opened any time in the near future? Or must we all question the legality of your actions, as escafeld has mentioned?:o

On that note, I must go.

Happy(ish) Trainzing,
Scott.

Great shots all

Dave if you require the bogie's (and they are 45317) send me an email and I'll send them over ?

Or replace them in the config with Peterdhicks B4 bogie's (found on the air con Mk2's) as these have the same attachment point height ? :)

Thanks Dave, will do. Cracking shots, btw!
Thanks for the reply, scottling. I don't intend to pay for a FCT and nor will I be upgrading.

I've staged an accident at the quarry sidings. The train was supposed to be a through train, but the points had been left open for the sidings, or summat like that and the wrecked hut caught fire.

I used to have 'small coal pile' and 'large coal pile', or words to that effect, but I can't find the kuids so I've substituted the tipped coal with 'Ballast pile'.

Pity it's payware. I've reskinned a few payware items but being for personal use it means an awful lot of time and effort is spent for what is essentially selfish reasons...

Speaking of Eldavo (and I think I've mentioned this before) I have a consist of his EWS HTAs and for some reason the couplers don't show in driver though pipes and couplers appear correctly in surveyor. I have a dual drawgear version at either end of the consist and these are fine. Any ideas folks.

Sorry to slide OT. If you do have a suggestion, perhaps it's better if you PM a reply so this thread doesn't get clogged. Thanks.

See post #56 - http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=878

Those are the trees, shrubs and grass I use the most. Other foliage content is what I already used before those came along, such as Water Hickory and Baum (The dead looking trees). Baum was Niffi's content and came bundled with a layout. It is probably still available from here - http://www.mediafire.com/?ylmdmctfsjm

Water Hickory (The silvery looking trees) -

This was sent over to Eldavo last year to see if he could sort out the texture mapping , With the hope it could be included on his site as a free download for those who have a 92 pack . I remember Dave saying that he hadn't got a lot of time for dealing with trainz stuff at that time .

Are the BR MKIIIa FO and TSA carriages in the shot with the BR 26 class typical of the 60's/70's era?

Also, sorry for the bad screenshot quality. I'm experimenting with Infranview.

A few more from my semi-fictional route. i dont know how you guys do it, i put a lot of man hours in this route and ive hard scratched 5 baseboards :hehe:

here's my starting grid station;
intercitybbbb.jpg

a zoomed out shot to show off the entire station, still hardly finished XD
intercitycccc.jpg

and some pictures of a dock im working, that will, eventually, be part of the city the stations in.

and class 47 hauling an assortment in my barely started 'old dock' overlooking the new dock

and a picture of the abandoned dock, which is still, hardly done (found a good little tip though, as a space-filler, if you make a mistake, leave most of what you did and just make it look 'abandoned' which is what i did here :p (though most of it you can see (its a -big- area)))

Hi Chris.

The first Mk IIIs entered service in 1975 (but were in development from '72) so a bit early for 60s. They were built right up until the late 80s and are still in service today and still more than fit for purpose.

If I got any of that wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Cheers.

@ Intercityboy - I know what you mean about time consuming. I still have only 4 boards complete after about 4 months worth of work.

You would not have seen Mk 3s on a 26 in the 70s though, they were pretty much exclusive to the WCML expresses and HST at that point.

In fact, I doubt you'd have seen a Mk3 on a 26 ever, since the Mk3s were ETH only and the 26 were steam heated only, and there are few occasions where the scottish highlands - where you'd most likely see a 26 - get warm enough to forgo carriage heating.

A small service like that in the image would likely be using old Mk2 stock - probably pre A/C stock too, so Mk2A, B or C - or even very old Mk1 stock, as there was a lot of it around still into the 70s and even 80s.

Consist-wise, I think its too short, 3 or 5 carriages would be much more likely on any kind of light loco-hauled service with a type 2. Probably 1 first and 2 SO or TSO, or perhaps even a BSO.

Of course, most of the UK in the 60s and 70s would have more likely seen a 101/105/108 instead of a small loco-hauled service anyway. DMUs were everywhere, they were a bane of anyone spotting back in those days. The early 80s saw a rise in loco-hauled services over DMUs, probably because of the number of DMUs being upgraded (101s mostly), or just plain failed.

Another batch from me, the first 2 are from the Fort William-Malliag line and the rest are from Skinners Lane (after some vegatation clearance)

I've been spending more time on reskins than route building of late but here are a few more shots from my route. I've moved away from the urban section for a bit of variety and these are all from an incomplete area.

Not one of my Commuter Link fleet running this service though.

Thankyou again! :)

I am definitely showing my lack of knowledge on English railways. :o

Is there any special letter/s used for MK2 first class carriages. When I say letter/s, I mean like the letters SO,TSO,BSO,CK etc.
