UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Lewis,

I couldn't persuade you to show more shots of the route? It looks fantastic so far. Looks DEM based?

Also Mark, may I ask you roughly what the overall progress is on your route as a whole? Or is the information on your website up to date?

I have now added a map of the route progress on my website, so progress can easily be tracked. The website is up to date, I try and post route progress news about once a month (apart from the latest update which was the first of year). The latest screenshots are added directly to the gallery now, and those are the URLs I now use for screenshots on forums.

Basically Penzance - Par is complete, as well as the St Ives and Falmouth branch lines. Im about to start work updating the Newquay branch, which will then complete that too. Then I will head from Par eastwards updating track gradients and some scenery.

Mark

Boobless, happy to show more shots! Sadly my peanut sized brain is unable to manage DEM's, GMAX or any of that stuff so it is done by measuring Google Maps and heights from OS Maps. It currently extends from Wetwang to Wharram but as soon as I have added more veggie to the existing line I may press on to North Grimston ....:o

Hi all

Some updates on the Perristone Branch Line, never really showed this on the forum, though I have mentioned it once. Today, I've been working on completling Marchwood (station and the town), and here is the progress so far...

The 12:53 NSE service comes in, terminating on Platform 3.

An SWT 'Plastic Pig' arrives with a service to Perristone.

The 442 then heads off to complete its service to Perristone

One of my favourite Trainz locos, the GER "Claude Hamilton" hurries through Burdale station heading north.Below, the real station (or what was left of it) pictured by me in 1977.

Hi Lewisner,

Great screenie of Burdale. The spur to the right seems to go to coal drops? These are just what I have been looking for to go into a current project. Are they on the DLS please?

Thanks, Andy

Hi adadadl, the coal drops are of my own construction using builtin content. Basically what I do is lay "Rails Only Rusty" or similar then lay 18 inch NG Dump Track set to the same height for the walkways and handrails. I then built up (in this case) layers of "Muro De Cinta 2M " box fashion onderneath - normally one layer of MDC suffices but here the drops were unusually tall due to being on the embankment. Finally I stick "Sleeper Track End" on the end and place Coal Pile 1 or 2" underneath. With practice it takes about an hour.BTW I used "Embankment Grass" on the approach line and used a spline of MDC angled ar 45 degrees on the left.

Excellent shots from all, really like yor china clay works Marky, your route is fab!

Today, we are back at Perristone, and I'm gonna be focusing on the line from Marchwood to Brolcot, not far from Perristone Suburbs

After leaving Marchwood, the line heads through a tunnel before following the beaches up a mild gradient.

It gets rather steep here, before leveling out

Nearing Brolcot, the line crosses the River Donarch

Pulling into Brolcot. The station has 2 fast lines through the centre to allow SouthWest Trains to run direct to Perristone. Note the cliffs in the background. These show evidence of a time of coal mining around this area.

Looking out from the station carpark, the dunes are in the foreground, and in the background, Marndare Island, now a home for more than 500,000 sea birds. To the right, you can see a junction. The line turning off it heads up to join the original mainline from London Paddington. The line heading off towards Marndare Island was recently constructed for two new station-Marndare Beach and Perristone Central.

Cheers,
Bernard

hope5 this is a SCREENSHOTS thread. You need to post requests for information or assistance on the appropriate section for your version of Trainz.
