@NIJ

Great shots!

Where did you get those lovely bridges (the one with the green, filled-in arches in the second shot and the one with the grey steel parapet in the third from last shot).

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul

Thanks for your comment :)

Yes, as Anthony has said, those bridges and the arches in the second shot are all under FMA on the Download station - they are in kits that allow you to mix and match the styles so you can have differing railings and edges etc.
They have some offset bridges too which are not splines but allow roads to pass underneath at 45 degrees to the track.

Just make sure you download the packs to get all the components.

In general I have found the FMA content to be some of the best on the DLS!

"FMA Instant Grass" is very useful stuff, especially if you lay it along the line of your fences.

You're spot on there. Look at my shots in this thread, not very far back. They use both FMA and JVC grass splines.

This is the wrong section for your question. Better off putting it in General, more folk might see it that way.

Great shots everyone!

A couple more from Longrock TMD:

The Night Riviera sits alone in the sidings.

The 08410 shunter (which is actually situated at Longrock in real life) in a siding with two sleeper carriages. Meanwhile a Class 220 Voyager speeds past on the mainline.

Excellent shots all :)

Back to 2002, a First Great Western HST in Fag Packet livery passes Redroath with a Portsbridge to London Paddington. This service was replaced by 180's in 2003 before ceasing in 2004 when the service was cut back.

Large number of re-skins

Hi all,

Iv recently had a go at re-skinning and, basically I really cant do it at all. So if there is anyone out there who would like to re-skin a large number of UK locomotives and rolling stock, then please drop me a line through private messages if possible. There is also a possibility of payment.

I know this is not really the correct thread for this request but I thought I may have more luck in here.:)

What loco's and stock are you requiring to be reskinned ?

Peak-a-boo!

Shildon Tunnel (or Prince of Wales Tunnel to give it its full name) was built by the Stockton & Darlington Railway to link Shildon with Bishop Auckland without all those pesky inclines. I've now finally got around to landscaping the area around it on my Bishop Auckland route:

2010_01_21_001.jpg

The tunnel portal I've used here is a temporary one until I can get a protoypical asset sorted. The real thing actually looks like this:

Or, for a more up to date photo (the one above was taken around 1900 - it's the only one I've found which shows that it was originally double tracked), see http://blackhatrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p41265249.html.

I've just about finished laying scenery around Auckland Park Colliery now, so once I've done a bit more work on Coundon Grange and South Church I'll be able to post another full set of screenshots. :)

@ durhamlass

Thats an amazing photo, to see the double track going through the tunnel, as it really does not look wide enough when you travel through it. :)

I'm really looking forward to your completion of this route. :)

(NOTE: The 304 was created using WEN's class 305 and altering the screenshot at the editing stage - the 304 doesn't exist and is not available for download)

Thanks! You might have to be a little patient, as I've still got lots to do yet. That said, once the rest of the Shildon area has been landscaped I think releasing some sort of preview would be appropriate.

Re the clearances it is very tight, and according to the information I have when the track through the tunnel was singled in the early 60s the main reason given was concerns over clearances. The fact that the line either side of the tunnel remained double track until at least the late 80s would seem to corroborate this.

When it was opened in 1842 by the S&D (to replace the Blackboys branch and its inclines) it was the first real railway tunnel in the world, so I imagine that the engineers of the time didn't really think much beyond their immediate needs (I believe that the S&D were also responsible for the UK's rather restricted loading gauge).

Are you aware of this simulation Durhamlass?

http://dereksiddle.blogspot.com/

Very much so - Derek and I are in contact and sharing info. He's not offered to share meshes yet though. ;)

Of course if there was a straightforward way to transfer routes between TRS and Railworks we might just be able to split the work between us and halve the time to build it....:hehe:

Thanks for your help. I already had some of the FMA bridges. I just didn't realise there were more! Looking forward to adding more cool stuff to my routes.
