Hi;
I have been working on a very large (approx 130 miles) route in the U.S., and am running out of buildings.
Can anyone tell me where I might find U.S. buildings; shops, homes, schools, banks, etc?

Thanks

FW

It depends what you have already obtained FW ???

On the DLS, under buildings/structures, type in the word school, bank, etc, you can see which are American based rather than European, some of the Australian ones may be useful to you as they are generally wooden structures that may fit quite well into an American setting. There are lots of farm buildings, schools, etc, etc.
Kilanziom did a Chrysler Building for New York and some other excellent skyscrapers, hotels, banks, and neighbourhoods for American and Canadian cities, search under his kuid 173943. Of course, our veteran creators Dave Drake and Ish6 have both done hundreds of American city and town buildings and Leeferr has done a school and some other wooden buildings for US villages, etc.
You could also have a look on the Trainz Pro Routes website, as in the route download section are a few buildings for each layout that may be worth downloading also, and in the general download depot, search for euphod's name as he did some gas station signs and other useful stuff, it's worth having a good look on the TPR site.....

Happy hunting.....

Sirgibby did a number of New Zealand houses and shacks and put them on the DLS, some in both high and low poly versions. They can easily pass for US wood frame buildings. Also hssrail has done a number of Sears kit built houses that are quite nice.

Dmdrake has showcased many of his creations, incluidng commercial buildings, at his Web site here http://www.ttbwrr.com/.

Good hunting.

I love 130(+/-) routes...

 Oh, yes...my current is Chatt/Atl on the NS...then the CSX

The NS Rathole is 137miles...

I would warn you that depending on the area you are modeling, try to stay with a limited number of buildings even to the point of repetition.

Building splines are good...

The point is, like with vegetation assets, reducing the variety allows quicker loading into view.

Tons of Low Poly Buildings.

Hi FW! Each of these search terms below will yield some good material on the DLS (even if I say so myself! :hehe: ). Search using the TRS2004 and TITLE filters. Most of this content is pretty low poly considering the number of buildings being represented.

I hope this helps, Dave
