Turntable installing problem

Hi fellow trainzer,

I want to install a turntable, but in the middle of it I see the ground instead of the frame & the pit of the table. When I dig a hole in the middle to see the bottom of the table, the whole turntable get down to the digged hole level and the surveyor does not allow to change the height of this object. Any tip, help, would be very appreciated.

Thanks !

G'day rail4pete,

Hmm. That looks suspiciously like the creator of the turntable has failed to include the appropriate tag to 'dig' the required holes for this creation in their config.txt file. Can you confirm that the following tag exists in the config.txt file, for us?...

dighole x,x

...if it isn't there, you have two possible 'solutions'...

...the first of these is to add it yourself but you will have to determine, probably by trial and error, the required values for 'x,x' in the tag (although it looks as though these might need to be '3,3' in this case). If you do this, note that the asset becomes 'locally modified' and any route that uses this asset if uploaded, will download the original unmodified turntable as a Dependant Asset (and any person who subsequently downloads it will be in the same 'position' as you are now - unless the original creator corrects his/her error)...

...the other option is for you to use andi06's excellent 'dighole' asset to 'dig' the required holes, yourself (which eliminates all of the above issues)...

Thank you very much Jerker ! I did not even new the existence of such an asset. I finally used ''dighole'' by Bendorsey (andi's one was not showing in surveyor).

You might also an entry in the config file called snapmode which determines how the turntable aligns itself to the grid.
