Hello, Sometimes when i am in a session the texture turns blue for a while. Does anyone else have this experiance at all. I have noticed it usually happens if the weather is set at rainy or i am using a snowy scene.

It would be nice to know if im the only one this happens too.

Greetings Stuart,

Do you have the latest video drivers installed?

It would help if we knew which version of Trainz you are experiencing this issue in. Also would be nice to know if you have been running successfully in the past.

WinXP or Vista?
Machine Specifications?

You did say session so I take it to mean Driver.

There is a known issue in 2009 Surveor where the baseboards disappear for awhile. This is being looked into.

One thing you may care to try is changing from OpenGL to DirectX or vice versa. Perhaps changing some graphics options such as "Draw Distance" up or down may help.

Good luck,
Lenny

Hello and thank you for your reply. I am running tr 2006 and have a XP pc . This blue texture problem comes and goes on driver and maybe only lasts for say 5 or 10 minuites so it dosnt bother me to much, i was just curious as to why it hapens?

Thank you again stuart

textures changing colors is usually a result of corrupting video memory. dont get confused with z-fight which is when 2 or more textures fight for whos on top and causes flickering, this is mostly bad coding.

Since no one else has posted it might be that the issue is unique to your configuration.

I dont have any answers as to why it happens, but some suggestions to try might make it go away, or at the least make it less apparent.

If you have the latest drivers for your video board then I suggest trying changing some settings.

If you are using opengl, switch to directx or vice versa.
Try messing with some sliders on your options, such as draw distance. In the upper left of driver you can access the 'Options" screen, for changing the performance. Once it turns blue enter the options and change things, it MIGHT immediatly 'fix' the issue after you close the screen. It may take some fiddling on your end, but at least it is free :)

Good luck and above all Have fun!!

Regards,
Lenny

I have also had the same thing happen in 2009.
It only last for a few seconds and returns to normal.
Therefore you are not alone!!:)

If what you're describing is that the textures on the baseboards (not the scenery objects) disappear, leaving you with track and buildings floating in blue space and bridge supports descending to the center of the earth, this is the disappearing baseboards syndrome mentioned above. I've had it happen on two different PCs with different nVidia cards, both using the latest drivers, and lasting up to 5-10 minutes as mentioned above. Sometimes but not always switching from one train to another helps. It's pretty annoying, to say the least, and I hope Auran is able to fix it with SP2...

This is a common problem. It is "route file size" related. The larger and more complex the route, the worse is the problem.

I understand that Auran is aware of this and solution should be a part SP2.

My route is so large, it takes a long time for the ground to appear if I change location using 'mini map" or "bookmark". It also happens every time you save.

On my route . . . it takes more than 5 minutes. So I just "exit" and "re-load".

BUT . . . even on my complex route, BLUE ground during DRIVER has never happened to me. But then I never made "Jumper" moves while in "free roaming" view.

If it turns BLUE . . . Look for the START BREATHING button :hehe::hehe::hehe:
