Tunnels in 2012

I'm finding that joining of tunnels to regular track is terribly fussy in 2012.

1.Splines of a different build number often won't join.

2. If you use a "bridgetrack" that has "istunnel" set in a tunnel of kind "bridge", the tunnel won't join to track. This is a real pain, I hate the way the "chase" view goes crazy when your train goes through a tunnel. "Istunnel" used to fix that very nicely.

3. The spline points of track and tunnel have to be set to exactly the same height before attempting to join, or they won't join.

I'm spending way too much time fiddling with this stuff, never had a problem before 2012.:(

I have had no problem joining track to tunnel.......I just wish I could figure out how to cover it up without closing up the tunnel...irritating ...:confused::n:
 
"Covering Up" ? Do you mean the 1x1 dighole is not present, and the tunnel mouth is filled with a gray 10m x 10m baseboard grid square ?

Tug up and down on the tunnel spline points, and position the tunnel spline points to the center of a 10m x 10m baseboard grid ... Apply a 1x1 dighole ... set "terrain" to minimum radius, and tug up, and down, on the 4 corners of the tunnel mouth 1x1 dighole.
