Tucson to Phoenix Arizona

Silently Waiting
I am planning on doing a Tucson to Phoenix line with yards at both cities with the towns of Red Rock , Marana and Casa Grande in between I also plan on including downtown Tucson and the trackage to Davis Monthan Air Force Base. The mainline between Tucson and Phoenix is about 90 miles long . It will use Transdem when i get it
the program as a bonus I will throw in the downtown tram line to the University of Arizona in Tucson. If any content creators want to help with this i can provide photos of the Tucson area.

I'm currently building some park models and might even do some RVs. I laid out Phoenix once from just the other side of Queen Creek all the way over to Goodyear and up to Deer Valley. That was a lot of real estate actually :hehe:

But I may be doing some houses that are done up with a Southwest flair, but the park models and RVs, especially the park models I don't think you'll find anywhere else. There are a few RVs but not a lot and more and more people are starting to do mobile homes but I found a big hole when it came park models.

Most of the line is next to the I-10 so just include Highway all the way down and you should be okay..

You realize the line doesn't go actually to Phoenix?

It goes to all the towns you listed by at Casa Grande the line splits towards Yuma..

I'd be willing to help, I also know a man who may possible be able to give you information, as he lives near by the line.

Cheers

But there is a mainline that continues on and goes up into Phoenix and goes north as well as west. But I'm acutely aware of the mainline running through Yuma, I hear them every 30 min. in both directions:hehe:

I think his will be an interesting project, and I already have a map of Phoenix that he should be able to merge on the west end that runs from Chandler across to Goodyear and up to Deer Valley. I would love to see a nice representation of that area, and I had thought about it and I enjoy making the maps don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy actually creating and finishing the routes as much:D

Mainly that is because whenever I put my interpretation on a route I generally get a bunch of negative feedback saying why did you put this building here or that building there etc. and it just gets to the point where I do things for myself that I enjoy and forget trying to please other people.

But if he is painstakingly gonna re-create every town and industry between Tucson and Phoenix that's going to be a chore. There is a lot of track that runs between those two cities some private smaller railroads as well as UP but there's just a lot of track.

It will be a project either way that's for sure.

Thanks guys

sorry about not posting here but i live in Tucson and i could do that part of the route if u guys want i can try to model the line to Yuma as well.

I am currently building the BNSF line between Williams JCT. Arizona and Phoenix Arizona. I wish you luck on this project anything Arizona railroad related interest me, well amything railroad interests me...:hehe: Using Google earth and looking at the surrounding area helps as-well. It is much more time consuming, but it makes it much more prototypical. Using a DEM for terrain works great to. There is one on the DLS by fishlipsatwork. I believe it is titled Phoenix south. All in all routes take time so don't rush I am looking forward to progress pictures. Good luck!

If/when you get to Phoenix, I have some scenery items (mostly traffic lights/signals) modeled after the realistic lights if you'd like them. They're in use right now for my Light Rail route.

This looks good! :D
