TS2010 screenshots

Now...obviously I'm not one who would be interested in "building a fun layout in minutes" :hehe: but I think the Speedtree stuff looks like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon. Maybe that was the intent...anyway I'm not impressed by any of these screenshots.

Cheers,
Fred

hi, Zorronov

Nobody will you impresed.
Not like Speedtrees ?...
They remain in their old Trainz version without Speedtree.
Is quite simple .. or not?

You need to buy anything that does not please them.
Only their Trainzversion has always had a tendency to look like a comic box.

Only with the TS/2009/2010, the graphic is better.
So rather then stay with the old Trainzversion ..

greets ice

Note: I replaced the default GP38-2s with my own.

Hallo,
thankx for the screens :-)

Your diesels looks very nice. I wanted to create a BN loco for the session by my own, but there was no time left to do so. Therefore I used the "default" diesels.
All other BN diesels available at the DLS unfortunately caused errors in CMP which would not have been accepted for the new TS2010.
Have fun playing with that route.

ice...I'm not quite sure what you said, but I believe I get the general meaning.

True...if someone doesn't like Speedtrees (with a capital S...:D ) they don't have to buy Trs2010. I disagree, however, that previous versions of the software looked like a comic book...well...maybe the way some used it. The only improvement I can see in the graphics is for modellers who design locos and buildings in 3Dsmax...a program that few of us can afford. I see very little of interest in your screenshots. The farm building is nice...but where is the rest of the layout? The nuclear power plant looks like a cartoon...not realistic at all. Like I said before...I'm from Missouri...Show Me something that will make me want to buy this product. The last 4 times I regretted my purchase. I'm not doing that again, unless I see something that looks like its worth it. Auran's recent track record has made me come to the sad conclusion that they can sink or swim as far as I'm concerned.

Justin...sorry man...you may like the way your locos look...but the topography, vegetation, textures, and the rest of the route in that screenshot looks like crap.

Cheers,
Fred

Hey Fed --

You should understand that you do need to humor Justin - he is, without any doubt, one of the best of the best. If he leaves because of your crap comments there will be a lot any very angry Trainzers comin' after you with baseball bats and axe handles.

As a general comment on this thread, there seems to be lots of chatter and very few pics, maybe because a lot of us can't see ice's screen grabs. So come on, how 'bout some proper screenies guys?

Phil

Can I ask where you got those flat cars? Thanks.

Hallo ptrainman,

you asked where to get the flatcars displayed at some screens of the Avery-Drexel route some posts before. Besides the Milwaukee Road Avery-Drexel route, I created a lot of locomotives and rolling stock, which now became „Built-In“ content at TS2010. Therefore, you will find these flatcars already installed at TS2010.

All freight cars changes industrial products.

There are some more cars and locomotives, just see the slideshow below:

Truth FTW.

You know, I am not slamming any particular person but it seems there is a lot of conversation and very few images in this "TS2010 screenshot" thread in the "screenshot" section. :o That is just my opinion and I know, opinions are like A__holes, everybody has one.;) I just had to say it because I am tired of coming here after each new post looking for 2010 screenshots and finding chit-chat instead.:'(

i think he was just showing off some of his own work. you might not like it, but it beats 90% or more of some of the junk shown on this forum or in trainz. i just dont think you comment was fair.

oh and, if you can afford a computer to run trainz you can surely afford 3dmax. most people have more than one pc, and tv, and dvd players etc... well 3ds for me is right in there with those items. not like its out of reach for the average person, you just have to use it to produce something other than junk.

as for me, well, yes i do in fact like the way my locos look. thanks. and for the route. i think it looks just as well as anything else you got to compare it to. crap it is not.

Tume: the autoracks in my install say they are missing the trucks... says they are on the DS but i cant get them.

As one who has and does run every version of Trainz I think we all could pick apart the game and Auran, but what's the point? For those out there that can do nothing better but complain about Trainz/Auran why don't you make the perfect train sim game? Put that Negative energy to work for you. I too am tired of so many complainers on these forums. Oh yes I have ordered 2010 EE and looking forward to it and I know it's not going to be perfect but I'm not going to come here and B---H about it. I'm off to play 2009 and happy about it.

Interesting to see some open autoracks, they are rare.
I checked your slideshow, nice stuff but on the rail speeder is the shadow mesh showing? Specifically on the right side of the picture near the bottom of the speeder, there's a spot where none of the normal mesh appears but something is there.

Ice,
I like the look of the steam engine especially.

ECML is a bit of a slide show but this small route knocks along quite happily, even with hundreds of Speedtrees (love 'em or hate 'em- I quite like them now). Can't run 2010 on my main laptop at the moment because of the ATI bug.

How much do you think it costs then, if you think it is easily affordable for hobbyists and within reach of the average person?

Mike.

What on earth are you talking about? A DVD player costs about $75, 3DSMax costs $3,500.

yes, there are plenty of authorized resellers online that are easily attainable. i see max 4 for $400, thats way more than enough to do trainz. i got MAX 2009 for somewhere around 1k at discount from an authorized autodesk reseller. of course i create payware, and that is an acceptable cost for me. but $400 fr something like max 4 is a steal. (warning though, max 4 and 5 dont work on vista due to the licensing software not functioning, may work on 7 ultimate but i haven't tried personally). there are also some auction sales and other non supported sellers, so i dont see why its so hard to come by. i personally dont trust resellers that are not certified by autodesk. the choices are there.
