TS2010 Designated Driver?

Searched for this, but the one solution for 2006 "set Adair as the driver" isn't working for 2010. I made a session with a player engine in a yard and AI trains spawning at 12 minute intervals, rather than going into learning how to use the "instant" portal stuff I added one train already on the track with some AI instructions. Problem is that's now the new default player train, how do I reassign the other engine as the player starting consist?

Hmm, as far as I know the last added train (engine) will be the one that will be active when starting a session in driver. So, I would try to delete and then re-add the engine to the session you want the player to use. Maybe saving between deletion and adding is required, not sure about that.

Hope this helps.

Still fuzzy about this one, seems like it sometimes goes random - I add some engines, first one I added is the one the player is "attached" to when the session starts. I add more engines, sometimes I'm attached to the first new engine added during editing, sometimes I'm still in the original. As far as I can see there's no way to move drivers or consists up and down the list in the driver setup rule, so how do you change which engine the player will start with?

In Surveyor, click on the Main Menu (upper left corner of screen) and open the Edit Session. There you will find a list of rules that have been created for your route. Select the Driver Setup rule and click on Edit. You can now see a list of the locomotives on your route. The locomotive at the top of the list is the one in which the player will be situated when opening in Driver. Just change the locomotive listed for the first driver to the desired locomotive to change the player locomotive. If this locomotive is already assigned to another driver, you will have to remove that driver first to free up the locomotive for reassignment.

Thanks, that works. Now I can clone a session with the player starting in different locos in assorted places without having to reprogram 250 navigate via instructions for a dozen starter AI trains. Just gotta make sure I place at least one loco and designate it as "player start" or something BEFORE adding AI trains and be careful not to delete it or the driver.
