TS12 wont run on Windows 8

I had no problems running Trainz under Win8. I had to use Open/GL drivers though. Also make sure you run Trainz as Administrator, just like you did for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

What Open/GL drivers?

With my installs of Win8 I didn’t do anything different from Vista/Win7. I don’t use UAC on my gaming setups so that gets turned off immediately after a fresh OS install, DirectX is updated and then the video card drivers (which provide the OpenGL support) whether it’s Nvidia or AMD are installed.

Hello Shane,
Not sure whether this is the right place or not. I am using Windows 8 and Trainz 2012.
Whenever I download an interesting locomotive, it gets saved automatically in the Windows Download File.
Now, normally, I would (in Content Manager) go to the Download Helper and select Edit, then Import CDPs.
Immediately, up comes a little screen called Download File, and there are the files which I have downloaded.
What the heck do I do with these CDP files which are showing in Download File? One would think that clicking them would do something or even clicking them and pulling them over to the Download Helper (except, you can't) would help - but it doesn't. The CDP files don't move or do anything - they just sit there. I am obviously doing something in the wrong order or something and would be grateful for any advice you could give me. We have spoken before - I'm the old dodderer from St Albans.
Yours aye

Hmmm. That is extremely unusual! I have a windows 8 laptop, Minimum Specs for TS12 and I play it just fine, I know it says I don't have it, but I do. :D I play it, no lag no glitches, it has crashed once but I fixed it. It runs like a dream. I'll see what I can do for you! :)
