Use the PrtScr key on the keyboard to take screenshots in game, they'll show up in your Trainz installation folder. I don't have Trainz 12 so I don't know exactly what it is, but it should be in Program Files/Auran/TS12/UserData/screenshots, or something like that....

Fraps is for taking video, by the way, and the free version is good for 30-second clips.

Wow so TRS12 has that capability! That's a pretty good option! Btw fraps takes screenshots as well as in game videos but if the game has that option no need for additional software
