Hey guys, im trying to figure out how to download stuff from flusi737. http://vnec.weebly.com/ thats his site and projects but how to i find out where to buy/download? It looks like some pretty good stuff too. (sorry if its a stupid question theres probably a download link i missed somewhere)

He took most of his sites down after people kept bothering about stuff.

He is only sharing (most of) his content with friends. It is not freely available for download.

I think you will need to contact him personally to get the download links. I don't quite remember how exactly it became that way, but that's a story for another day anyway.

Hi,

(you'll first get my standard answer, too tired to type all that crap every day :p )

Thanks for your interest...but there's still the unsolved problem i have with all my routes. They were never done for the public, just for myself, because i started work on it looong before i joined the community. The main problem is that the routes all together (NEC1, 2, KC) require more than 11.000 dependencies. 5900 of them are on the DLS, the other ones are a.) Payware, b.) Not longer available or c.) My own assets. I can not send you those assets, it would simply be ILLEGAL to share other peoples content. On the other side you are also not able to get the dependencies - but you need them for the routes, the route file only is worthless without them. I hope you understand what i mean...it isnt a nice situation, but there's no way to solve this.

-But you may understand that i have other things to do than asking 500 creators for permission....

If I could Make a suggestion?

TS12 adds great functionality for dealing with missing assets.... IF you found someone willing to work on your routes for you, to replace what was missing, would you make them available?

The other thing I can suggest is make them available anyway, publicly, AS IS, just put a disclaimer to the effect of "Warning: Many dependencies are missing. Replace or Delete at your discretion. Author holds no responsibility for the completeness of downloaded content" This could be expounded on depending on specifics, but that should absolve you of personally having to deal with it. I'm sure there are people here that, would at very least, on their own, compile a list of whats missing and whats still available. Be a great organizational task for somebody thats really bored....

And btw, Don't worry about the Total number of Assets.... As of the radio show this morning, my CM knows of ~350K, I personally have over 100K Locally, and the average serious Trainz player has over 50K. People will adapt to what they want to do.

Finally I'd suggest to not let the missing Payware worry you too much. Just because XYZ Locomotive is Copyrighted, doesn't mean you can't distribute Things that *Reference* that locomotive, you just can't include any part of that locomotive. Same with trees, Buildings, etc etc. Check out the MBC2012 Route that uses Payware Pofig(? Might have been JVC, can't remember, I just know to buy them costs $100) as an example. The route is free though.

Hope this helps

Yes that helps :D definately worth a thought...i'll see what i can do :)

Something else you could do too, IDK what I didn't think of it last night, I've suggested this to people before, and its quick and easy, only ~ 4 minutes of your time per Route:
Before you release them, just make a quick list of stuff that isn't on the DLS. Open your CM, Grab the route you want to release, View dependencies, View in Main list, then on the left in the Search Column add "Available on the Download Station - False". Copy the remaining list into Word Processor of your choice, then make the DL page for the Route, and copy and paste that list. Easy Peasy, not quite as fast as instant rice but dang close.... The people that really want your routes will use that list and replace whats missing, but having the KUID list will put them in a good starting position to know whats missing and be able to replace it more easily....
