Try downloading again. The file is corrupt.

If you are on a wireless connection, download using an ethernet cable. If you need to, use someone else's machine that's directly connected to the internet. You can put the .zip on a thumb drive since it's 9.4 GB.

The alternative is to use the online installer. This will download a small portion and then download the rest.

When installing, ensure your antivirus isn't blocking the patch.exe program from installing, otherwise, that can cause the program to not work properly.

Thanks for the help JCitron. I didnt know if it was just my end having a issue. I was hoping that it didnt need to be reinstalled. As the internet where I live is slow. At least that explains why some things didnt quite work right. If the internet provider would hurry up with the fiber optics then I wouldn't have to worry. I went the online installer first. I'm going to let the full installer download overnight then see where that leads me.

Yeah, it wasn't you. The bits sometimes get scrambled when the server and your PC retry to send/receive the data. There are download managers that will help with this, but I can't recommend any in particular because I haven't used one in a decade or more. Good luck with your full install download.

I'm having problems with the checksum failing after downloading the patch as well. I tried twice, but no joy with it. I'll see if I have better luck with the full download installer, but not today as I'm tired of mucking about with patch downloads that don't work.
