trs2006 dls/cmp errors, errors, erros arh!!!!

For some days now I have been trying get this problem fixed and its just not happening.

I have posted threads in 2006 about this and I thank those who have gave there suggestions and help. but NOTHING has worked to fix the problem.

I now have a pc with windows7, this came about because my old pc with xp died and I had no option but to buy a new pc.:'(

I installed 2006 and yes it seems to run fine.
then I tried to download content from the dls, click on download, message shows "unable to register trainz URL registry key" this shows not once but 3 time, then when the cmp opens, seems fine then click start (to download) it seems to down load to my pc, but open the game and the content is not there.
I have right clicked, checked run as administrator , etc, etc, but it does NOT fix this problem.

Yes I understand that 2006 has not been test with windows7, but its only this download issue thats the problem that I am having, any other problem I have read about in the forums, I have noen-counteded as yet.

receiveded 2006 as Christmasas present and I enjoy it very much and I don't want to have to now have buy a later version of trainz to enjoy the game, that if a later version of trainz cmp works with windows 7.

I have un-installed 2006, no sense in leaving it installed when you cannot enjoy the fulbenefitsts. its boring if you cannot download content.

Please if anyone knows how to fix this problem, please let me know.

You could go directly to the Download Station and download via FTP or use the utility Trainz Downloader Pro v3.1.0 (at http://www.gaurc.us/index_files/software.htm if you don't already have it). Once you have the asset in you computer you can use CMPs Import CDP or Import Content as applicable. After importing the select the Open for Edit tab in CMP and commit anything that is listed there.

mmm I am running 06 on window 7 and no problem.. you might make to commt the thing you d/led... just go to the open edit slot fo cmp left click on the stuff and hit control m to commit it

You need to run the program as the system administrator.

Right mouse button click on the icon on your desktop.

Click on the Compatibility Tab

Check the box at the bottom - Run as Adminstrator.

Click on Apply

Click on OK

Give it a try. This should now work fine.

I think another way around this issue is to install Trainz in a folder or Directory other than the (default) Program Directory. You also need to make sure TRAINZ is allowed to connect to the Internet through your firewall.

Oddly John, I have NEVER had to "run as admin" to get Trainz2006 to go (with Vista). I have had other programs that require it, and one (Out of the Park Baseball) that required it at the outset, but hasn't done so in months.

So the admin part might not be the problem for him.

in cmp look for the tab "open for edit" click on it and it will list everything that you have there ... hit "Ctrl+A" then "Ctrl+M" and it will commit all downloads ... this is what i have had to do a few times in my time with trs 06 ... once finished close cmp and open trs 06 and all downloads should be ready to use ... hope this helps you out.
