TRS19Plus - Layer issue

TRS19 Plus Build 114800 here. I am enjoying using the unified driver surveyor (UDS) and it works well for me.

When loading the route, I use "edit session" and then the first thing I do in surveyor is layers/route layer. I want no objects or splines on the session layer. This works well for me because I never have more than one session for a route.

But with UDS, when go into driver mode, then back to surveyor mode, the software changes the active layer back to session layer instead of leaving it at route layer. As a result, I end up placing objects and splines on the session layer. Once I realize this, I do a merge of session into route to correct this.

It seems to me that UDS should not change the active layer from route layer back to session layer when going from driver mode back to surveyor mode. Is this a feature or a bug?

any time you open surveyor with edit session it starts on session layer.

Which is exactly the same when not using the UDS. Load a route only into Surveyor, the first route layer is the active layer. Load a session into Surveyor, the first session layer is the active layer.

Makes sense. Since I always remained on the surveyor layer before UDS, I never gave it any thought.

Yep. I like to do all my edits with the session loaded so the first thing I do after loading it up is to switch the layer to route. Also, I've found it very helpful to use the option of disabling the view of a layer. If I disable the route view I can see anything in the session that maybe should be in route. Using the ? option on that asset I can switch it to the route. Nice little trick for me since I've been known to have added assets while in the session that I should have in the route. My bad, but an easy fix.

That's one for my memory bank, I frequently add the wrong assets to the session layer - it would be nice if flora/fauna, tracks etc went to the route layer by default.

I lock the Session layer before I save so when I edit session again, and forget to move to the route layer, if I try to add an asset it tells me the layer is locked. If you look at the layers you will notice that it unlocked session layer, so lock it and go to the route layer and you're ready to go. Sometimes I want to add, let's say an industry, to the session layer then lock it so I can add or move stuff around it without moving the industry building. Just remember when you are done to move the building back to the route layer. I also hide the route layer be for saving to make sure there is nothing on the session layer that I want on the route layer.
