TRS 2006 Error.

Hello.
I've recently purchased a new laptop and have successfully installed Trainz UTC which works great, even with all the Settings sliders on maximum.
I've also installed TRS 2006, but when I try and open it I get the following error message :-
The procedure entry point ?GetFormatld@TextureResource@Jet@@UBA?AW4Formatld@2@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files(x86)\Auran\TRS2006\Bin\Render3DFoundation_7c.dll
I'm running Windows 8 with an Intel Core i5 processor, if that's any help.
I've looked at other posts with the same problem, but can't seem to find any useful help.
Has anybody else solved this problem?
Thanks.
Neil.

When you go to: C:\Program Files(x86)\Auran\TRS2006\Bin\Render3DFoundation_7c .dll
In the TRS2006 folder, in the Bin folder, is there a: Render3DFoundation_7c .dll

Did you install with your antivirus turned off, and answere "Yes", "Install" to all questions posed ?

Cheers guys.

I reinstalled TRS 2006 with no anti virus running and opened it up before installing the service pack. All was ok, so I decided to install the service pack. I have been doing this straight from the DVD drive, but thought I'd give it a try by installing it straight from the hard drive. This worked and only showed 1 error. On other occasions it has shown a number of errors.

There still seems to be a few problems regarding the Driver mode. I'm running it in compatability mode for Windows XP SP3, but the screen starts on the edge of the map somewhere and the locos are sometimes missing.

The only way I can play it is by using Surveyor to open a route and placing consists on the route.

Better than nothing I suppose.

Thanks.

Neil.

That's the issue. You must not open TRS2006 at all before installing the service pack - it has to be installed straight after installing TRS2006.

Cheers Shane.
I'll uninstall Trainz again and reinstall, installing the service pack straight away.
What would be the best way to transfer all of my content off my old computer onto my new one?
Thanks.
Neil.

You can "Save As CDP" any irreplacable custom assets, and routes, and save them to your PC Downloads.
========================================================
The "Local" file is the only thing to back up in TRS2006 ... to transplant in place of the new re-installation Local file, which you will delete.

I would think that the new re-install, and patch comes first ... and don't use your PC while re-installing & patching.

After running Trainzdiag, and a Trainz route/senario ... then you would delete the re-install local file, and transplant the old local file into its empty location.

Perhaps assets.bku, and assets.tdx need to be deleted, so that the TAD will rebuild (don't hold me to that one, it's been awile, and I forget).

Thanks.
Sound easy enough. I'll give that a go tomorrow.
I seem to be fixing Trainz more than playing it these days!
Cheers.
Neil.
