triggers and signals

is there a rule anywhere that can change a signal, giving express consists access to track, and holding back freight. (2010 ver.)

I had one on an earlier version but can`t remember where it came from.

Couldn,t you do it by changing the train's priority? I havn,t tried it myself but I beleve 1 is rhe highest then 2 and so on.

I tried the priority, but it doesn`t do what I need.
If the goods train enters the mainline, even for just a short distance, it slows down the express further back.
I`d like to be able to hold the goods, until the express passes, as they both run on different timings, using the Wait for Trigger command or Wait (time) just seems to back-up all the freight eventually.

Controlling a signal by trigger seems to be the best solution. I can remember using it in TRS2004 but haven`t had any joy finding it on DLS for 2010ver.

Thankyou for your replies, and ideas, I definately try them out.

For the freight you could try navigate to trackmark xxx, then wait for trigger yyy to be triggered by loco ttt or by any train
Just make sure the passenger cannot avoid the trigger.
Place the t/mark where you want the freight to wait, the trigger wants to be up the line a bit.
