TrainzStop render/screenshot thread

Engines looking really good ATSF854 I to am waiting to see what you produce in the future. Will you have a U-boat version with ditchlights for us shortline/regional guys? ;)

WARNING, IF n8phu (Chris) sees this - DONT SCROLL YOU ARE AT RISK OF CARDIAC ARREST FROM FOLLOWING RENDER :hehe:

I warned you!

Also I wanted to thank chris again for getting me those diagrams of this loco back when I was just starting 3ds max. I think if it weren't for that motivation to create something I would have never gone through a day of 3ds max!

It looks like somebody got a long GP38, then crashed a steel girder through the top, making that odd flat bit.
(Is that space for a pantograph?)

The reason for it being short is so that the pantograph can have enough space to extend from the cab. The frame is from an SD40-2 so close enough on that GP38-2 part :P

Today, I remade my billboardz.

So far I just have them with SCP stuff.

EDIT: oh yeah and here's the current progress on the GM6C.

Nice work matt
It would be funny a billboard with that concrete monster SCPH-172 or something lookalike, it scared me too much, with something like "Imah of concrete, beat it"

Greetings

Ah, you mean 173? I made one for that as well, just don't get to creeped out by the drawing.

I honestly don't think I would survive an encounter with 173. UNLESS, I tape my eyes open. :o

ATSF854: Didn't you have a CF7 in the works? Would love to see that

Not anymore, I stopped working on that ages ago.

Add me as one of them!!!!! I would love to see a CF7!!!!!!!!!

could you please finish the cf7 there is alot of people that would die to see one of them made into trainz

I prefer to work with what I want.

Also, I really want to do an interior for the GM6C, but I have found absolutely no pictures of the cab. I only know that it has dual control stands for both long and short hood running.

It probably has a bidirectional stand, judging by the way the front of the cab is built out. Same system as used on the Reading SD45s and PRSL GP38s. Dual stands is exactly that, two standard control stands in the cab, which fits in the normal floor plan, just makes it a bit cramped. A bidirectional stand is a single stand in the center of the cab, with levers on both sides. The reason the front of the cab has to be built out is there is an interlocking mechanism so that only one side may be used at a time, and it goes in that extended cab front. I've never seen anything but diagrams of that kind of stand, but it's an interesting idea. I'd imagine it takes up a bit less room than dual stands, but maybe not.

Reading about it on other pages it seems that the cab probably resembled other contemporary EMD products with changes made to handle all the extra stuff. The control stands, however, seemed to take some influence from ASEA, but no one seems to know how much. It's those differences that are, of course, the killer. Most of these conclusions were drawn from peering through open windows in pictures and the 30+ year old memories of people that were lucky enough to see it in person. Rest assured though, if you ever turn up a cab photograph of one of these, the internet is filled with people searching for the same.
