Trainzs S2.0 Copy and paste

Hi guys, I'm trying to copy and paste a traffic light section of my route so laying more traffic would be easer.

However, it doesn't work. It copies to the clipboard but when I try control V northing!

If I do it on a bit of land, asset etc it works?

Any ides guys?

Check for locked layers (there will be a Brief Notification Message top right if the layer is locked).

If it's not that, provide a step by step bullet point list of what you're doing.

Morning Tony.

1: Select Marquee Tool
2: Drag and draw a box over the assets
3) Click on little dotted box lower right corner
4) Click copy (An image is added to the clipboard)
5) I then navigate to a blank part of the route.
6) I drag and draw a blank box in the dedicated area
7) I then click on the small dotted box in the bottle righthand corner to find “Paste to selected Area” is greyed out?

Control C then control V also doesn’t work, however if I do the same procedure with a selection of assets it does work.

Any ideas?

Also, if anyone knows the name of any sample working traffic lights route that I can download that would be a great help?

Hi guys, I've been testing all day and have found out the following.

If you draw a box just over the assets but it captures a large area then you must draw a box as big as the selected assets otherwise when you try to paste it is grey out.

Anyway, in the end I built a new set of working traffic lights with pavements, white lines, signs etc as a traffic light template. The idea was to have a template set so all I had to do is copy and paste it into the new location, chance the assets numbers ie this is the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] set of lights so everything that can be edited needs to be set to number 4.

Easy I thought. But there’s a problem, after changing all the numbers of the assets that needed changing, it didn’t work and whatever I did it just wouldn’t work.

So, I deleted the traffic lights, both ATLS Slaves and the ATLS Controller and then added the assets back and did the settings as before and I did a test and it worked. (Leave 20 seconds for it to sort it’s self out)

Doing it this way is so much quicker than starting from scratch as everything is already set it’s just the programming needed.

The paste operation doesn't require a new marquee - if you just click and Ctrl-V is will paste the currently selected Scrapbook at the original size.

If you do create a marquee and "Paste to selected area" it will compress or expand the original selection to fill the new selection (so you can make things more or less dense based upon the size the paste area.

The only time the option should be greyed out is when there is no valid scrapbook to paste. So if you create a scrapbook in a payware route, it won't be available in another route (and will have a yellow lock on the thumbnail).

Other than that I haven't been able to repro the greyed out option. And as mentioned above, a locked layer will also prevent a paste operation.

My process is:
1. Select area and Ctrl-C (or select existing scrapbook)
2. Move to new area and Ctrl-V
