Trainz22 retail and subscription question

Hello and sorry if this has already been asked, but the forum posts I read about my question were not clear!

I want to buy T22 to have it forever, but would like to try out the new editor. So, as an example, I subscribe for 3 months and afterwards decide that the new editor is nice, but I do not use it continuously.
If I stop the subscription then, can I use/work on my selfmade routes and DLC I bought in my retail T22? Or is that dead material then?

Trainz Plus routes are compatible with the "latest retail edition" - so right now that means TRS22.

At some point in the future, as Trainz Plus is updated and a new retail edition is released, then it is likely that those newly saved "plus" routes will not be compatible with TRS22.

That's right (and point your new install to your local data folder to access your local content).
