Could anyone tell me the system requirements are for the 2009 trainz simulator.
My system is 0.99GB ram on a 2.4 cpu, is that sufficient?
Cheers, Davejey

Your system may run 2009, but performance may suffer, especially on the larger more complex routes. You don't state your video specs. If you have on-board (built-in) graphics, it will be a tough go.
Thanks Guys, I guess my video hardware is Intel(R) Graphics controller. My service pack is 3. on Windows xp
At present I use version 1.3 Trainz which runs ok. Would I be better off upgrading to Trainz 2006 until I get a better computer?
Cheers, Davejey
ps Title should be 2009
I would suggest to go with trainz 2009 verses 2006 because it will have better frame rate and will be smoother overall
pc specs ati HD 3850,Pentium IV 2.8 ghz,1gb of ram this I run with works very good

Click on "Website" above. Minimum specs for 2009 are posted there. Note that it states Nvidia with 64mb. Your on-board intel does not support OpenGL that CM2 (content manager) needs to function.Same goes for 2006. My suggestion is to get yourself a good used machine that meets the posted recommended specs, not minimum. My local computer shop sells refurbished XP3 machines that will run Trainz starting around $150 (US) with a 30 day warranty. A 3 year extended carry-in warranty is an additional $30. In fact I am using one right now. By the way, go for 2009. With Sp4 now available, 2009 is the equivalent of 2010 minus layers and speed trees (so I'm told). Good Luck.
Yes it looks like it will be trs 2009 for me with a better computer which I will dedicate to Trainz, Flightsim and other games.
Thanks to all for your ideas,
Cheers Davejey:wave:
