Trainz won't load? Help please?

I've literally only just purchased it. I've registered my serial number on the download station and have the game installed. First all I had that updating asset thing. That has stopped now. But now the game won't even load! I have to run it as administrator also! I customised the display settings to direct x and the resolution to 1920x1080 (my TV resolution for the PC) and then I launch Trainz, then straight away it comes up with "Trainz has stop working" and I have to close the program! I'm really annoyed as I have paid good money for this and I can't even find a way of contacting in Auran! It can't be my PC surely? It runs Trainz 2004 and 2006 absolutely perfect!

Hi TommyMardon,

Welcome to the forums.

The first question I must ask is what are your computer specifications? A system that runs 04 or 06 fine may not be powerful enough for 10.

Shane

To contact Auran use the helpdesk, above centre.
Before you bought trainz did you check if your comp met the recommended specs needed.
From 2006-2010 the comp specs have changed a lot.
Sorry to be abrupt but to many people do what you seem to have done.

Hmmm...

The CPU looks a bit low for TS2010, as a dual-core processor is recommended.

The Operating system is OK, as long as you make sure Trainz is set to administrator.

Have you had a look at my DirectX update thread? An up-to-date DirectX install is required for Trainz.

Also, what graphics card do you have?

My tutorial website will come in useful here.

Thank you for trying to help out! I'm not too sure on what graphics card I have, I'm not very good at understanding the insides of computers too much :\ and nope I haven't seen the direct x update, I'll have a look!

Please see my tutorial site as well, for my PC Information Application. This tool can tell you what your graphics card is.

Shane

Sounds good to me.

Do you think it's worth having a look at a report from my application? That will tell us for certain whether it's a dual-core or not.

Shane

OK, that's clarified the processor side, but am I the only one here who seems to think that there is something missing in the specifications?

Shane

As well as running your utility Shane, it may be an idea if the OP ran his Windows Experience, currently it's reading 1 unrated. May be struggling to even run Vista if the graphics are shared which with A Dell they probably are.

Tommy, welcome to Trainz. Can you go into the bin folder of your Trainz installation and run the TrainzDiag file, and then post the results here? Thanks. Once we know what it says we may be able to help.

Everything else says 'passed' so I just print-screened the area where there are warnings.
