Trainz - Where can I find these locos?

Hello everyone,

I am looking to find some of these locomotives for T:ANE. I am looking for freeware versions, since there may be payware versions available, but I don't currently have $$$ laying around...
SD70MAC - > I'm looking for one in Conrail and BNSF (H1, H2, H3) and BN (Barfbonnet)
C44-9w -> I have found these, but none that look good and are in BNSF H1/H2/H3
AC4400CW -> Have found these, I'm looking for any in CSX, BNSF, or CP Rail
AC6000CW -> CSX
SD90MAC -> CP Rail

Oh, and while I am at it, does anyone have any tips for making skins off of actual pictures, or making skins from scratch?
Since I have HO scale models of these, I may break out the ruler and make models of them in Solidworks or Blender (If I can figure it out)

Have you checked Jointed Rail both payware and freeware? I believe they have at least some of these locomotives.

Yes, I did. As I said, I am not looking for payware. I know JR offers payware SD70MACs and C44-9Ws, as well as the AC4400s. As for their freeware, the only C44-9w they have I got, but it is in ATSF colors with BNSF patchout. I have multiple locomotives like this already. This is why I was looking for H1-H3 skins.

Why not do your own reskins

This is because it uses a skin changer to choose different skins, and because I am not very good at making skins. I could if I could find some clean Dash 9 images or something, but this is only one of the locomotives. Does anyone have tips for cleaning up images to use them?

Edit: I just realized RRMods has a UP Primer SD9043MAC I could reskin into CP

Your better off using a paint program to paint a skin than tryng to cut and paste photos together jigsaw style

Oh and does anyone know where I can find detailed dimensions of locomotives to make models based off of?

Google "locomotive drawings". You need drawings with dimensions.

Making locos for use in Trainz requires 3D modelling skills, image editing and knowledge of how all the parts fit together. It can be fun and rewarding but takes a long time.

I do photo-real assets all the time. Some from downloaded picture, some from images I've taken myself.

Start by creating or copying a working model using a new kuid ID.

Next, your image needs to be in reasonably balanced light, though some assets look striking with distinct shadows. They should be centered and eye level and entirely within a full frame.

Open the image map using any basic photo editing program that allows you to cut and paste. Resize and rotation too, as sometimes one or two degrees of rotation will help your selected parts fit better. Sometimes I'll do sides in parts, so windows, cabs and grates align better.

Even then, you'll still may need to take some artistic license. For example... the ends of the asset need to match the paint scheme of the photos. Locomotives with side walkways need to have the hand rails masked. A clone brush feature is very handy for this purpose.

You'll also have to mirror your work to create the other side of the asset. In some cases this may require re-mirroring the running numbers and logos as not to appear backwards.

Here's a simple example of a photo-real caboose:

Photo-real or scratch skins are really enjoyable. I'm a former railroader and created many assets I've worked on or around in real life. To be honest, I probably spend more time doing that than running Trainz itself.

I was wondering if anyone has modded the Loram track cleaner ????..that is an awesome piece of equipment.....i have photos but i cant download them on this site......
