Trainz Problem

When I tried to start Trainz earlier today, it said, "You have not entered a valid Serial Number. Please check that you are entering English characters." Then it pulled up the options menu. I assume it wants me to enter the serial number in the "CD Key" box (which I did, but it didn't work). So what do I do?

Phil,

It sounds like you need to run a database repair. Start Content Manager and click on the file menu. Try the Quick Database repair first, but if that doesn't work you'll have to run the Extended Database repair. Both procedures will take a long time to run, so be prepared to do something else. When I have performed maintenance tasks such as this, I usually let the PC run overnight. This will prevent me from touching anything while the machine is busy.

There might be a problem... It won't let me start Content Manager.

I would suggest making sure you haven't entered any wrong characters when entering the serial. It may be easier to copy/paste from Planet Auran > Serial Numbers.

I had copied and pasted the serial number that I got when I purchased Trainz 12 from Amazon. Also, is there a link you could give me, Shane?
