Trainz not available at this time?!

When I double-click on my short-cut icon it comes up with this message "Trainz2010 is not available at this time" Could this be due to it being updated? or something else.. I've searched the forums could not find anything similar. I did get the steam version though.
Hope it's not serious.

Okay it's working now .
But I wonder what caused that?

That's interesting but my build number is the same. Maybe it's an update so I can Install my Duchess and Blue Comet add-ons I got Auran or that maybe wishful thinking .

The build number may not change - for Steam versions they release updates for the Steam Client itself, not necessarily for the game being played.

It happens sometimes, the best solution is usually to close all steam apps, then exit steam itself, wait about 30 seconds, and restart steam.

if you're lucky it just fixes itself, but more often than not it's steam's networking code getting messed up and restarting steam fresh is the only solution.

Having seen the error of your ways, why not get a proper version direct from N3V? Never let Steam decide if and when you want to play your own game.

Martinvk beat me to it. If/when Steam decides to stop supporting Trainz (or anything else they sell,) you're just going to have to buy a fresh copy anyway.

I agree - it's not always a good thing to rely on a third-party supplier (especially if it's Valve (the maker of Steam), as (from what I've read elsewhere) they have a habit of modifying their versions to prevent patching to a later version.

Also, (and this includes other non-Auran/N3V direct digital download versions) you will not be able to try out things that require the SP3 hotfix (including the Open Multiplayer Beta, if you registered your serial number before 10th January 2011)
