I was trying to run a built in session in Trainz, and It said 'The selected session cannot currently be used for multiplayer. The Session,The Route,or some Dependencies are not built in and are not on The Download Station.'

'Abort Session Load' <

Any Help?

Actually, my Mac did this too, but it also said to download item updates.. or something like that. so I downloaded them, and the session works fine. but I'm not convinced the multiplayer actually works, as it says I have file mismatches when I host a game.

also, I do have a question for the moderators: is Trainz Mac Multiplayer only available on a local network?

Trainz Multiplayer in general only works over the Internet via N3V's servers. As for that error message, there is only one built-in route/session that is actually set up for Multiplayer, and any session that is modified to work with Multiplayer must be uploaded to the Download Station and re-downloaded once it appears on there.

yes, there are two routes with multiplayer that came with Trainz Mac
But what if the multiplayer setup isn't the same on the Mac? There isn't a "Multiplayer" module on the Trainz main screen like TS12

Multiplayer is largely the same. Both versions can host a multiplayer game by loading into the appropriate Multiplayer Session and then configuring and starting the game. Once started, the multiplayer session should show up in the session list for anybody else who views that route.

Recent updates to TS12 allow alternative ways of achieving the same goal.

That's taught me something new - TS12 only has the one (I cannot remember it off-hand though). It's nice to see Chris in the thread as well.

Infraredbob - mac users can only play with other mac users, not 12 users. I've had trouble trying to get others to join a game because I have a different build than a lot of people (I'm running 48159)
