Trainz is not working!

My Trainz doesn't work! It gives me an Error message.

I've tried to delete the assets.tdx file, but it's not there.

I don't know what to do. Please help!

ERROR MESSAGE

The fist time i got this error message i thought all was lost and then i remberd something from the past.I opened the Norton recycle bin and searched through all the files that had been deleted and sure enough there among the deleted trainz files was my assets file,I clicked on the file then on restore and "hey presto" Trainz worked again.I now make a copy of my assets file after every session and put it in a seperate folder on the desktop then if for some reason trainz freezes at start i just copy assets file and then paste it back into trainz.This problem occurs alot when i download from the dls and commit files,i press start and nothing happens so i delete the assets file and replace it with the on i saved that i know works. This may not solve your problem but i have learnt a lot of things by trial and error.hope this may help

Hello

Whats your PC spec? and Did you run TrainzDiag to see if your PC passed all the tests to run Trainz? C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2006\Bin\TrainzDiag

Vertex Shaders: Version 1.1 (DirectX failure.)
Spherical Enviornment Mapping (DirectC failure.)
Vertex Buffers (DirectX failure)

Have you tried serching for your lost ASSETS.TDX file?I have known TRAINZ to dump this file anywhere,as i said before it took me a lot of trial and error to find mine before,press"START" on desktop then click on SEARCH, enter ASSETS.TDX .ps search for hidden files as well.will try and think of what else i used to do and will post idea's

I found "assets.tdx". It is currently on the on the desktop. What do I do now?

What type of Graphics Card does your PC have?:)
 
Right click on your assets.tdx file click on copy, then open the auran folder, then open the trainz folder, right click anywhere then click paste your assets folder should then appear.then double click on trainz 2006 icon

Right click on assets tdx ,select copy,open the auran folder, open the trainz folder ,right click anywhere ,select paste, your assets file should now be there.Now double click on trainz 2006 icon.good luck.:Y:
