Trainz Gallery search

Uploaded screenshots yesterday from my latest 22 layout build. Went to gallery and put in my username in the search box to bring them up to put them in the screenshots page and it takes me back to trainz gallery link page. Tried to load more recent activity shots to find my screenies and nothing happens there. Is this problem ever going to get solved?

Well, the Some More Recent Activity link is just "javascript:;" which calls the javascript interpreter without passing any parameters so it looks like that is disabled. Maybe if the Thomas children would stop flooding maybe it could be used by the rest of us.

I was able to click on the Search Media tab and see a few of your shots that just appeared. Must be taking a lot of time to wade through all the TTTE garbage.

Figured out the problem. When you click on your screenshot in the gallery, click on full image then right click and click copy image link. In the insert image box right click and click paste and it should work.

Yeah, you don't have to find the URL yourself anymore. That is a nice improvement. Over all I like the new layout under search media. It has much less of a HTML 1.0 look to it

the TTE Garbage is getting way out of hand Those kids need some kind of Punishment for causing a Disruption in the Gallery causing it to crash.... its bad when the owners cough cough N3V can't even control their moderators and the content that is being flooded in the form of spam..... This Forum has gone down hill very quickly.. This will be my Last post for a long long long long long while..... One Bad Apple Ruins the entire Crop....! True Fact!

I don't believe TTE screenshots actually broke the Gallery search system - per other threads, that seems to have happened during an attempted hardware/database upgrade. The TTE content may have been part of the volume motivating that attempt, but blaming it for the fiasco seems to me a bit harsh.

Speaking for myself alone, I'm a bit bemused by the prevalence of TTE material in the Gallery, but I'm not a TTE fan. Even so, I suspect there is not as much of it as we think: it's instantly recognizable (from the bright colors, faces, and proportions), so it seems to be everywhere when, probably, it really isn't. Perhaps there are some TTE fans who fan the screenshot button like a cowboy sixgun, but the instant recognition of their content (by the rest of us) makes it easy to swiftly pass it by. Maybe, since we don't understand the attraction, with a little sigh.

Thanks. I believe the one feature most missed is the "following" option. You can still try to Follow a user (click the button) but it now has no effect (that user isn';t added to your followed list), and for users you chose to follow back when the feature worked you get the crippled display (just ten or so) instead of a display you can page through. If there are priorities being set in N3V's project of reviving the Gallery, I'd suggest giving that a high one.

Out of curiosity, I just checked the last 40 screenshots, 20 are TTTE related. One is a true screenshot that is from a route and includes other items of scenery and rolling stock. The other 19 are on bare track segments laid on a default textured baseboard. They include up to three single locos.

Before you think that these are all kids. Remember that there are several YouTube channels that make fake Thomas videos to get views from kids and it works. Some of these channels have videos that have millions of views. I have no doubt that they are earning tens of thousands of dollars a month.

It's like Barney the Dinosaur - they love it, we don't understand why.

One thing I've never had the guts to find out for myself, but are the faces actually animated on those things?
They do not move in real time but they are changeable from one expression to another in the same manner as you can open the doors on a box car via the property dialogue. In fact if you check the keyboard mappings for TRS22, you will fine it is possible to add keyboard shortcuts to control the TTTE script that controls the faces. I find it very sad that N3V wasted development time on adding that feature when so many other problems in TRS22 go unfixed.

Hi All
Unfortunately server upgrades have meant that the Trainz Gallery is currently not able to be used. We hope to resolve this in the future, however at the current time there is no timeframe for when it may be resolved.

Just to confirm that we have not implemented any features for TTTE content/scripts. Content Creators can create their own custom keyboard control options, which will appear under their own heading in the keyboard controls list in the settings. You may find a few others such as 'advanced steam locomotive controls' or similar, where creators have provided options for custom keyboard controls to work with their custom scripts.

The Trainz Gallery has had numerous problems since before last Christmas and here we are in the middle of June. Since there's been a bunch of people starting threads about this over the long duration, is there any valid reason why it's taken you SIX MONTHS to acknowledge that there's a problem ?
