Trainz, Fatal Error, CTD, Malware???

Today while I was playing Trainz, it had a massive freeze. I first got a message telling me a "nonfatal script error" had occured. It read as follows:

"ER NativeCallError, line -1, file
Stack Dump:
function$void@train::EnablePhysics, line -1
function$void@SlaveTF::LifeHandler(int), line 51"

I clicked "continue." I did not even get a minute into the game when the computer froze. I couldn't even Control, Alt, Delete it. I waited for about a minute, and then the screen went black. After some time, I got a message telling me something like this: "Security options could not load due to login failure." Suspicious, I clicked the 'X' on the message, and when it closed, the desktop appeared, with a message telling me that Trainz had a fatal error. I did not take the time to jot it down. I terminated Trainz.

What on Earth could cause this? I have never had this before. I am afraid it might be related to some type of malware. Does anybody have any ideas?

Don't think its malware. I had a similar message come up on my computer "Logon process has failed to create the Security Options dialog". I re-booted my system hoping it would cure the problem. Took nearly 2 hrs to start,then boot up failed. Took it back to where I bought it from and found out that the MB would not recognize the hard drive. My HDD had failed. On a computer less than a year old lucky enough its covered by the warranty. Should get it back in a couple of weeks.

It may be worth getting your hard drive checked out just in case.

Thanks for the reply. I just had the thing checked no less than 2 weeks ago. The test said it was okay. I also have my C Drive on an external hard drive, but still... But, then again, I haven't had a Trainz crash like that before.

May have been ok when they tested it but if they removed it to test did they fit the cables back tightly, worth checking?

Check your power supply too. I had a flaky power supply cause hard drive corruption. The 12V line was marginal, and this caused read/write errors on the drive. After replacing the PS, the system ran fine.
