Trainz derailment

This is the mother of all crappy events in Trainz. This train is losing some of its cars because the switch is thrown before the train has passed over it.
I thought that the culprit was the locomotive pulling the train, I experimented with other two locos and the derailment happens exactly at the same place.

Any idea where to start looking at this problem?

Join the club: I have been complaining about this for years. And no real solution has been given.. yet...

When the switch changed it showed locked, just for a second. A consist behind taking control of the junction ?

I had always assumed that it was not possible to throw a switch while the train is on top of it, but obviously I was wrong. Can I also assume that AI threw the switch, and not the human player?
I can do some experimentation for you if you like. Is the route available for DL?

I first saw this problem in TRS2006. It has not been fixed in TRS2012. It happens when the program wants to return the junction to its default direction before the last car clears the points.

An easy solution would be to have the program to change the switch to default after some delay, just to make sure the last car clears. I have noticed this more on cars with 4 axles. Another peculiarity is that if you set the switch with the points exactly over the spline circle, the problem would be minimal (still may happen, but not so much). It is erratic: Sometimes it does sometimes t doesn't . I have had this problem running my consist in DCC! (Sometimes...)

Hi Approach_Medium, the route is not in DL, I could email it to you if you want to try it.

This might sound daft but before the consist gets anywhere near that switch change it manually. If it derails the next consist that wants to go in the other direction a deeper look at it is needed.

I wanted to see whether the type of train could be causing the derailment and it was not the case:

Apparently the derailment occurs to trains with more than five vehicles.
I considered the original position of the turnout in surveyor and my tests shown that that is not a case.
Who knows what is going on?

Hey guys, I know you might be particular about having specific switch levers on your layout, but have you tried something basic such as 'lever auto' or an alternate lever? I've laid out a similar piece of track as you've show on your videos with different levers and different track and I haven't had the problems you've been having? Good luck!

Hi Roy,
yes, tried several switches to no avail including 'lever auto', same problem :'(

Do you have any other AI consists nearby that would grab your switch levers? (That doesn't sound Kosher!!!)

Would you mind posting a track diagram? I noticed something about your signaling which I think might help your problem. I have never had that happen before with AI driven trains. That has happened to me while I was driving because an AI driver grabbed the switch after I had set it for myself, but was too far away to prevent the AI drivers from getting there before I did.

Problem has nothing to do with other trains grabbing the switch. It happens when a consist with boggies passes a set of points, and they change back just before the last car clears it. It is very clear in the videos and it happens to me on almost any route and sporadically. So in an effort to get a solution, I replaced a set of points for one of the animated HOTT junctions. Magic! Problem solved. Now the question is why? Years ago, I pounded the help desk with this and got nowhere. Maybe this time, with so many responses we can get to the bottom of this?

Humm, HOTT switch??? I was close, the one I tested [HOTT Lever C LL black,<kuid:9999:23355>] didn't prevent the derailment, maybe I should try other HOTT levers, there are plenty of them.
On the other hand, I do have other trainz running but they are far away from the faulty switches or whatever is broken.
I just finished patching to 61388, tomorrow would be another day....:sleep::sleep:
