Trainz 2010 wont Launch

Hi Yall, Today when I tryed to click on the launcher for Trainz, It loaded up with a small box on my screen showing the trainz built number. When I tryed to start the game on the root folder. it said trainz cant not access database. Any idea's what might be going on?

Can you show us a screencapture from you monitor. It would help some of us who do know by sight to try and diagnose your problem.

Here you go, I hope i dont need to reinstall the game, I have over 250 GB in for the game, Payware and personal made contents

Well, have you tried entering the Content Manager? If you can't then check to see if you have your payware backed up in one folder. It should be easy to find your payware if it wasn't Auran DLC where you have a limited number of re-installations for if you need to reinstall Trainz. However if you can enter Content Manager then search for your content in the search engine, and you can make all your content in .cdp files by highlighting your content you want to preserve and either use the key binding Ctrl+Shift+D or you can right click the highlighted content and this will bundle all the content into one .CDP file that can be opened later. Do this first if you can before you do anything else.

At the launcher, check options and ensure you have the settings on DirectX and not Open/GL. Sometimes things can get swapped and this can confuse your system.

Ensure you have the DirectX 09C update installed. You can download that from Shane Turner's website. Follow the link in his signature.

Hi robertkl,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but my experiences with TS2010 strongly suggest that your program is corrupted. If this is the case you will have to uninstall and reinstall the program. Why it happens I don't know but it has happened to me a number of times over the years. To ascertain if the program is indeed corrupt I would suggest you do the following.
1. Copy your UserData folder to another location on your computer (Desktop for example. This is a safety measure should you have to reinstall.
2. Try to uninstall the program via programs in control panel or from the Auran folder in the start menu. If you get an error message telling you that the program cannot be uninstalled, you can be pretty sure that the program IS corrupted and WILL need to be reinstalled.
If this is the case let me know and I will be happy to advise the best procedure to proceed.

It sounds like your game is corrupted then. You will need to install again from the disks.
