I'm not sure of how much experience you have with Trainz so I hope this doesn't insult you.
Beware that a lot of the third party content will only work in the 09/10 versions after some fixing on your part, some not at all. Not impossible or very difficult with PEV's excellent tools and help from here. But you will have to learn the process.
Not trying to dissuade you off of either. Just do some digging through the forums here before buying. If you're prepared, some of the problems aren't to bad to deal with. If not you can be blind sided pretty hard and it may become frustrating real quick.
I will have to agree whole heartedly with Euphod's assessment of 2009 though.
And yes, it has surveyor.
