I have just purchased Trainz Simulator 2009 (Build 38869). Will it have come with Service Packs incorporated? How would I determine whether or not it needs a Service Pack, and where would I go to get said Service Pack if one were required? I have noticed a number of areas that list Service Packs, though I have not see my Build number.

You have the Just Trains version of TS2009. Download the first service pack here; http://updates.justflight.info/jt/TRS2009/Trainz2009Update.exe (42 megs)... - Once the update is complete, you will have patched the Just Trains version of Trainz Simulator 2009 from Build 38869 to 40040

Then apply this service pack; http://download.ts2009.com/Beta/40040_to_41844.exe - (39.9 megs)...

Then when you have applied that patch, apply this one to take you to the latest build: http://download.ts2009.com/patch/41844_to_44653.exe (449 megs)...

Hello Mac,

Yup - that is correct!

Thank you for the link. I would therefore assume that this version is now "locked" with no foreseen requirement to up date the build?

Thank you, Graham

Hello Mac,

Disregard my last, thank you I will go forward with this.

No problem Graham. Remember the 3 service packs could take several hours to install. Be patient and whatever you do, do not interrupt the process. Even if the service pack looks like it stuck/stopped installing...

Cheers, Mac...

A warning regarding the 40040 to 41844 update - you may find that you have to update your DirectX files before it will install. (see my sticky at the top of this forum)

Mac, Shane, Lorenw, Thank you all very much for your advice. Full updated to 44653 -the tip on Directx certainly helped.
Graham

I thought the DirectX tip would probably help as SP3 (40040-41844) will not install unless it is at least the August 2009 version.
