Trainz 2006 Start Up Error

How long have you had TRS2006 ?

Do you have irreplacable content, and payware content ?

If so ... go out and buy a 8Gb memory stick @ $10, or a stack of DVD+RW discs @ 25 discs for $25, or a 1Tb external hard drive for @ $79.

Copy your "local" file onto one of these types of media.

Also one by one, save as a CDP ,all of your irreplacable routes, and payware, and name each CDP file what they are onto this type of media.

This should allways be a regular practice, by everyone, all the times..

===================================

Delete Assets.TDX (in bin) and Assets.BKU (in cache) files into your recycling bin ... but do not permanently delete them from the recycling bin just yet.

Once you have your CDP's saved on a type of media, and your "Local" file ... close down and restart Trainz.

Your TAD will take time to rebuild.

==================================
If that doesn't work:

Uninstall Trainz program.

Restart your PC.

Delete the newly created Trainz Asset Database "Local" file ...

Transplant your saved "Local" file into its location.

Close down Trainz ... and restart Trainz.

All your old assets and routes should be there again.

The game was running fine earlier this morning, its not the card.

CMP wont start saying "Make sure youve run trainz at least once"
I already ran it.

Cards can and do go wrong, if it's ok for a while and then starts having problems that might indicate possible overheating, check the fans are working on the graphics card, processor and any case fans are working and not bunged up with fluff dirt etc.

Reason being I searched on the error message (removing the address part usually works) and got two copies of jetlog.txt with the full error, last entry related to a file relating to nvoglnt.dll

I suspect the jetlog.txt will look similar to this.

May be worth looking at jetlog.txt and copying it into this thread.

Fair enough.

Does it have any particular names/logos on it (as this may indicate whether you need a patch or not)

Also, try some of the advice given by the other members who have posted in this thread.

Dude, Places like JR send you an e-mail containing the payware. No matter what happens to your computer, as long as you have an e-mail account and do not delete the e-mails, you can replace them rather easily.

Also, you should look for the file that is having the current issue. See if it is corrupt. FYI: read it in notepad to see what it is. FYI: post it here if you can.

G'day!

The Kernel file is corrupted. See if you can find a new one, either the internet or another Trainz folder and replace that Kernel with the new one.

Cheers! :)

Jake.

Yes you can replace from a web site unless the site gets shut down and there are a few payware sites closing of late. Plus not all download links given in emails stay live for very long. Better to back up and not assume downloads will stay online for ever, also saves bandwidth for those on a cap in that you don't have to download stuff again.

Plus you can't download anything you have created yourself if it's not on the DLS.

Just had a look for merscom on Google - it got redirected to another website, which indicates the company no longer operates. This is not a good thing if your version happened to require SP1.

I think that re-installing (with your antivirus software turned off) is going to be the best option.

Copy the Local folder to a safe place first though.

I get this same notice ... after I save a route, or drive a route ... after I close Trainz ... Other than that the game runs fine ... I am lead to believe that this is bcause of the unsupport of 06 ... IDK

Does your game start ?

Is your Trainz desktop icon advanced/preferences ticked: "Run As Administrator"
Does your Antivirus Firewal have Allowable Program Exception Rules:
C://ProgramFiles/Auran/TRS2006/Trainz.exe
C://ProgramFiles/Auran/TRS2006/bin/CMP.exe

This will mean a reinstall, if you haven't already done so.

Make sure your antivirus is turned off, and if you do need to install SP1, this must be done before the software is first run after installation.

Did you remember to re-add the following line back into the trainzoptions.txt file?

-intro=disable

(make sure it is as typed above)

If you have, re-run TrainzDiag and post the pass/warning/fail portion of the log into a new post.
