trainz 2006 problems

recently i cleared my laptop out,when i installed 2006 and spack all was ok
after a day or so i realised i was not saving anything nor could i log on to
ftp reason quering ticket status,i put in code of 2006 but told already
registered,
i had tr2009 installed worked ok but slow on times
any help will be gratefully accepted

Hi lenny,

When you reinstall you do not have to re-register, but you do have to put your user name and password in, in the options function from the launcher. With 2006 you also have to put your username and password in the internet options in CMP. Another thing you have to do if you install on a different computer is allow TRS2006.exe and CMP.exe access through your firewall.
As for a laptop, Trainz will probably not run as well as it does on a desktop, mainly because of heat problems or graphics card problems. Also if you are running Vista or windows 7 on your laptop you will have to install and run the program as administrator because Vista and Windows 7 do not like saving data files to the program folder.
