Hmm. Portals are supposed to make trains disappear, not disappear themselves! I’m a bit stumped at the moment.
First off, with regard to
Portal basic <kuid:30501:22006> have you definitely,
definitely, gone into Surveyor to do a full search?
1. You
must be in the Objects Menu flyout with the top left
Add object button selected.
2. Type
Portal Basic in the search box.
3. Select
All from the drop down list in both the
Region and
Object Types boxes.
If it appears, select it and see if it drops onto the baseboard as in my image. if you can do that, then there may be a problem with the downloaded route.
If it doesn't show up, then a more likely explanation is that your TRS2004 install may be faulty.
I don’t think you will find the asset listed in the full general Content Manager or TO lists. I've looked again and can’t find it in mine, even though I’ve clearly got it. It's a built in object which won't normally be seen until it becomes an error linked to something else
In your screenshot it shows because CM sees it as a missing dependency for your downloaded Slugsmasher route.
With regard to the TrainzObjectz error messages, these warnings are useful. I always say
Yes to All because it will correct simple errors which can cause assets to fail. I've used it for several years and have found no reason to mistrust it. It has always worked fine for me and saves the tedium of manual corrections. The one in your screenshot has a 0 (zero) before the last 2 which needs to be edited out. TO will do that automatically if you say Yes.
Allowing TrainzObjectz to correct the errors may not sort out the missing portal problem, although it’s probably worth a try. However, it could well enable some other faulty assets to function properly, so it's worth doing anyway.
If all of the above fails, it might require a re-install of Trainz, but try the above first. If you do consider re-installing the game you may want to take further advice, particularly on how to save any work you have already done so that you don’t lose it. Unfortunately my knowledge of how to do it is not very sound (I’d also need advice!). I'm sure someone with the right knowledge will be able to help though.
