Trainz 2004 Hangs PC with a Blank Screen

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum but am confident the some1 or the other will help me out.
I had got a Trainz 2004 CD pack from one of my friends last year. I had installed it then and it was working just fine. But after I upgraded my OS from Win 98SE to XP Pro (Configuration described hereunder...) it hangs when I click Launch Trainz.

Trainz Configured as follows:
To run with DirectX & Not OpenGL, 800x600 32bit resolution
Medium settings for graphics (to save on resources if any)

PC Config.:
Intel Pentium4 processor 2.47GHz
1GB DDR1 RAM
80GB Samsung HDD
Windows XP Pro
DirectX 9c installed
Soundmax Cadenza Onboard Sound chip,
Nvidia GeForce FX5500(upgraded 175.19_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql.exe)
14" Color (CRT) TVM analogue monitor which has been with me since 1993.

Now when I launch "Trainz" the screen goes blank and nothing happens even after waiting 15 minutes.:'(

I have to finally press the Windows button (which does not show anything) then press U for bringing up the Standby, Shutdown, Restart window and assuming that the said window must be active, I either have to press U again for Turn off or R for Restart and subsequently the PC shuts or reboots accordingly.
What could be the problem? Can anyone please help me...

Try running TRS2004 as an administrator. RC the icon on the desktop and LC properties. LC compatibility. check the box that says run as administrator.

Open your Auran 2004 folder and look for trainz options. Open it and add
-intro=disable into the list. You may find the video has a problem playing with the newer drivers.
