Trainz 12 Portal Question

To start I set an AI train to emit from a portal at 09:45 with the session start time being 10:00. When the session starts the AI train is no where on the route. My question is there a way to have the AI train be located on the route if the session started at 9:45 instead of 10:00? From what I've tried no AI trains will appear if their emit time is before the session start time. I was just curious if the AI could be placed “on down the line” once the session started. It takes an AI around an hour and twenty minutes to traverse the route portal to portal.

I realize I could manually place the AI train on the route however I wanted to have multiple start times for the session with only having to change the time and not having to place AI trains for each start.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You could place the consist on the route just before the portal (but not too close or else strange things happen) - or wherever it's supposed to be 15 minutes into the session - and assign a driver and his commands via the Driver Setup page. There are 3 upsides to this; 1. you can load your cars with whatever load you want as opposed to an InstantLoad command and 2. you can control precisely what time the train sets off and 3. the train cars required for the session will be saved should you decide to distribute it.

Place the consist once and then copy the session.

Then again, if you adjust the time of the session the train will still take 1h20 to traverse the route so that does not change anything to the placement.
... or am I not understanding your question?

Thanks for the reply. I will try placing the consist close to the portal and see what happens with different start times.

I'm probably not explaining the question very well. :) Let me try again.

I'm going to start with (what I think is) a basic setup and go from there. If I have a session start time of 10:00 and say an AI train emits from Portal 0 which is at milepost 0.0 at 10:00 then at 10:15 the AI train is at milepost 12.0. 15 minutes to go 12 miles for example.

Now if the Portal 0 emit time was set to 9:45 then at 10:00 when the session starts the AI train would appear at milepost 12.0 instead of not at all. Is there some way to do this without having to manually place the train at milepost 12.0 when the session starts? Would there be some rule or command to make this possible? This example is just a generalization as I'm looking for multiple portals and multiple AI trains being placed on the route after the session starts.

Hopefully I've not made this more confusing. Thanks again for the replies.
