Trainz 10----Trainz 12

I have both Trainz 10 and Trainz 12. I thought that trainz 12 would be backward compatible to at least Trainz 10. I have routes and sessions on trainz 10 that seem to play okay on trainz 10. Try to copy Via CDP to trainz 12 I might get the route to load but it is totally unrecognizeable as compared to trainz 10 I fire up the CMP that comes with trainz 10 look at the installed route in question and it shows that there are 4 misssing dependencies 3 of which are supposedly on the DLS I look at the same route with the CMP that comes with trainz 12 and the number of missing dependencies is in the thousands How can this be? All I want to do is work on a route that works fairly well on trainz 10 in trainz 12

First I'd do an EDR on TS12, often advisable on a new install.
If that doesn't sort it then:
The builtins for 2010 are not included in TS12, it would be too big for a digital download or reasonably sized set of DVD's, they were put on the DLS, to solve that problem less obviously the actual 2010 specific routes.

Or less complicated and suggested by N3V, just copy 2010's JA files into TS12's builtin folder, add 2010's serial number in options in TS12's launcher, do an EDR, if it doesn't automatically do one and you have all of 2010 in TS12.

Biggest problem is expectancies - TS12 does not have compatibility mode. Any route or train that works in TS2010 NATIVE MODE should work about the same in TS12, but if you have been running TS2010 in compatibility mode all bets are off. I turned off compatibility mode in 2010 when 12 first came out, and started the process of learning to fix everything to 2.9 standards so it would run in 2010 native mode or 12.

If you copy the routes from TS2010 which weren't included over to TS12 via cdp, you will need to get CMP to check for missing dependencies select and download from the DLS, which is where N3V put them rather than include all the assets in TS12. Basically raw TS12 comes with the assets needed to run the supplied routes and not much else.
