hello to all members
I have one question do any member have the system requiremetns for trainz09. I would like to have the train 09 but I have xp operating system. hope the trainz 09 do run on xp.

Trainz 2009 will run on XP. There are a lot of beta testers (100's) currently beta testing Trainz 2009 WBE Beta1 on XP.
It will also run on Vista...
If your current PC is running TRS2004 and or TRS2006 OK, it will be able to run TRS2009.
In saying that, the better spec'ed your PC is, the more you will be able to 'turn up the settings' in TRS2009 and the more smoothly it will run.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Mac...

you can check the specs for TRS06 and Trainz classic and have a general idea.

If you have a system that surpasses or meet the recommended system specs you should be ok. Otherwise not so much.

For my personal experience I could say that to run Trainz as it is now you will need the following to run it well. Take note that this is my personal opinion (8 years with this great simulation) and do not reflect at all the real specs that will be given by the Auran development team.

2.4 dual core or beter cpu
2gb of RAM min (3G if running Vista)
any nVidia card 8xxx or newwer with at least 256 of video ram (512 strongly recommended)

cheers

I'm running TS2006 and TS2009 Beta-1 on the following system, and getting decent performance:

Asus P5AD2E Premium mobo
Pentium 4, 3.4Ghz hyper threading, but not dual-core
3G DDR2
Nvidia 6800 w 250MB
RAID0 disk system w 320G + 180G on SATA
20" digital monitor

TS2009 (and 2006) do get a bit jumpy working in Surveyor on a densely populated route. Decent in Driver.

TS2009 does not appear any slower than 2006. Save to disk appears faster in 2009.

Yeah, having a 3.4ghz cpu can somewhat compensate for the lack of a dual/tripple/quad cpu. Your driver experience could see some improvement with a newer "cheap" video card like the G92 GT models with 512 DDR3. Will be nice to see if someone will post something about surveyor on computers with multiple core cpus. Once I installed my X4 9950 will post back myself. But for experience the jumping around surveyor effect has more to do with the way the assets are loaded in "design route" mode than the actual performance of the machine in general, but I hope to be wrong.

Hi,

do any member have the system requiremetns for trainz09

I've been doing a little Beta testing (and please remember that Beta will change before release!).

Athlon 64 3000+ (that's single core, 1800MHz), 2 Gb RAM, nVidia 6600GT (256Mb), Fortissimo sound card with a 17" LCD monitor. Win XP (Home, SP3)

My impression is that TRS 2009 Beta 1 runs more smoothly then TRS 2006, TC3 - using the same routes.
That's with compatibility mode ON - I suspect that if there is a route & assests that don't need the compatibility turned on, it will be faster (though I haven't tested that).

I also found that TRS 2006 was smoother than 2004, so it appears that the game engine has been improved a lot, without losing too much in the way of backward compatibility for content.

IIRC, using a GeForce 2 graphics card is slower (according to the "feature list") but I don't think many people use that now for a gaming system.

HTH,
Colin

How are these specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Processor 2.60 PHz
GPU: nVidia GeForce 9100
RAM: 6.00 GB (5.75 usable)
System type: 64-bit Operating System
DirectX Version: 10
OpenGL Version: 3.0

Well? Is this adequate to run 2009?
