Trains won't move. Even in the tutorial.

Hi there. I have just downloaded Trainz 19 and have been really enjoying surveyor mode but I have a massive issue with Driver. No matter which session I'm in, even the tutorial, the trains will not move. Doesn't matter if I use cab controls, DCC, or driver instructions, the train just stays stock still making the idle noise. Same thing no matter what loco or route I use. Anyone have any idea as to why?

Let us know what build number of Trainz 19 you are using. Some builds had a problem releasing the brakes. I believe CTRL-D would drain the brakes and let you get going, but sometimes that either had to be held down to keep going or would not work at all. I remember trying a consist in Kickstarter County that I couldn't get around the first corner. I had to fight it and fight it and could not get any speed up at all. I gave up on it. The problem seemed worse with some of the grey/red ATSF locos

Thanks for the response. I'm using build 117035, I'm on a MacBook Air (2020) with the M1 chip. Unfortunately ctrl-D doesn't seem to do anything. Any other ideas?

If nothing happens, try

Launch Trainz | Start Trainz | Settings | Control Settings
In the top right, choose reset control settings, click on the ok tick, reboot Trainz if prompt

Hopefully that will resolve the issue

I guess that I'm lost again. I was pressing Q to release the brakes.
Q still releases the train brakes (by default).
D acts as the 'bail off-function (by default) which exhausts any air pressure in the locomotive's brake cylinders which is built up while applying train brakes. For whatever reason sometimes some engines will start in sessions with this pressure in their brake systems. You may have to press it multiple times to drop the BC reading to 0-2psi.

Try this:
I found that when in drive mode click the drive command (on the train command line).
Let the train run down the line just a few metres.
Clear the drive commands from the AI train then manual operation of train should happen.
