Train Sounds

I just want to know but I will be recording some train whistles but are their any programs can use to put them in content manager if any of you can help I sure would like it.

Hello!

I find Audacity a good program for making hornsounds, and it's free! You can even record sounds from YouTube and use them to make hornsounds using Audacity. I've done that many times.

There's a "How To Make A Hornsound" tutorial as a Sticky in the General Trainz section of these forums.

I'm willing to help if you run into any problems or have any questions.

How can I get sounds to go into the content creator plus?

It is a Mp3 but hiw do I get that in my asset.

You need to convert it to a .wav file, Trainz does not recognise .mp3 files.

Indeed. MP3 files are a no-no when it comes to Trainz assets - both Content Manager and Content Creator Plus will throw it out. Best bet is to use a audio conversion tool.

Another thing - it must be in mono, not stereo (which is what most MP3 files are, as well as some .wav files).
