Train-Songs

Hi cvkiwi,
is it really so difficult to find some train-songs ? What about "good morning America" either by J. Cash or Arlo Guthrie; there are so many . Titles like "Ghost Train" by Hank Snow; "Hey Porter" and " Folsom"; "Rock Island Line"; The Wreck of the #9" and many, many more, the list is not exhaustive. Just google for it on Youtube.

Engine, engine, number nine, going down Chicago line.

I've been working on the railroad.

Those two pop up in my head.

Then there's Casey Jones.

When it comes to train songs, you can't beat Johnny Cash, as mentioned above. Orange Blossom Special. Wreck of the Old 97... well, you can't beat those tunes! I think I will look them up online right now!

Cheers...Rick

Geez, I better mention Hank Snow, may he rest in peace. He was a local boy who sang a whole bunch of train songs. "Wabash Cannonball", many more. Most of the great fiddle players have taken a turn at "The Orange Blossom Special".

This was a big UK hit in 1957. At the time I thought it was great!:o

There are some interesting, if not totally relevant, narrow gauge images which accompany this one.
