Train simulator with straight air brake

In UK terminology, Straight Air Brake refers specifically to the Locomotive brakes only, and wouldn't affect the vehicles being hauled. You're describing the train Air or Vacuum brakes which apply both the Loco and Vehicle brakes at the same time.

There are retainers on US equipment that allow brakes to be applied at varied rates on mountain grades, however in Trainz you get what you got ... it stops ... it releases.

You can apply locomotive brakes only ... or loco and entire train brakes all together

If you have 137 loaded, or even worse empty, cars behind you, and apply the loco brakes only ... all the slack will suddenly run in, and throw your back out of place, and cause a run-in derailment
