Tracksound problem

What is the proper way to put tracksounds into the track and not the bogey? I tried it different ways several time, but it never worked. I just can't hear the tracksound. :(

Any advice how to correctly put tracksounds in track?

There is a WRRW track at USLW with a track squeel sound ... You can clone the track, and alter the tracksound with your own wav file ... or attach the BNSF50 tracksound kuid tag into your own tracks config file.

You will find the BNSF50 tracksound kuid in the WRRW Squeel Track config file.

Remember to "commit", the assets that are "open for edit" in your CM or CMP

USLW has lots of great stuff ... you have to enable cookies, and (temporarily) set your PC internet options/security/cookies to minimum(s), and allow USLW address as a trusted site.

Remember to reset you PC "intenet options" back to your PC default settings, after exiting USLW

What I'm trying to work out is how the sound is attached to the track... is it scripted to the mesh, or is there an attachment point?

...I'm going to have a look. I really want to create a generic track sound for welded and jointed rail. Sure, the screeching is good for curves, but Mr. Gimmie want's more sounds.

Looks like I'm opening up CMP. To tear apart how this tracksound is made and setup... after all, that's what I do best. ;)

I'll report back.

As cascaderailroad stated, www.uslw.net is one of the best Trainz freeware websites to date. I check in occasionally myself.

Cheers,
Joshua

Found out how. Here's your tag you have to add to the track config.txt file:

PHP:
track-sound {
	sound {
		track-sound				<*place tracksound KUID here*>
		priority				1
		track					<*place track's KUID here*>
	}
}

Hope you find that useful.

Cheers,
Joshua
