Trackmark Names

A forlorn hope, I guess, but is there a way of listing all trackmark names? Apart from writing them all down from the route map...

Surely they are held in some file, somewhere?

Interesting.... I'll try it. Thank you, stagecoach.

The only way I know is to use a dummy drive to tm command. It will list all TM's on the route.

Pity: they can't be printed from that.
Oddly, a few, but only a very few, trackmarks and station stops appear in the config.txt file. No idea why, though. It would have been handy if all were listed there.

As far as I know, trackmark names are listed in the "string-table" container of the config.txt file of the route or session if you rename them. If you leave the default name (or you cannot edit the route), they are not listed (not in any normally accessible file, at least).

I suppose TM names are stored in one of the the various files contained in the folder of a route or session. Examining them with a hexadecimal editor software might provide the required information, but it looks like a very hard and time-consuming task.

The best trackmarks are those you give a useful name. Those will show up in the config file in a list.
Start renaming your trackmarks the moment you put them down and you never have this problem (again).

I always rename TMs to something meaningful but they still don't appear in config.txt, apart from maybe half a dozen.

Just a few of the many I use are in that string-table. So far I haven't spotted the logic of why those particular ones.

Sounds like a bug.

Or can you rename trackmarks while in a session? Maybe they get stored in a session. Feels weird and wrong, so I go for bug.
