Track Marks Question

Hi all,

A quickie about track marks. Does the direction in which the track mark point have any effect on where the train stops if you use the 'Drive to trackmark command' ?

Some testing that I have done has shown that engines will overrun the mark or sometimes stop short regardless of which way the mark is facing?

Hi adadadl,

I don't think the direction the trackmarks are facing makes any difference in Trainz, although I usually place them pointing the way a train is going. When you say a loco sometimes stops short and sometimes over runs, is this the same loco with the same load? Different locos will stop at different places depending on the load they are hauling and the braking charactaristics of the loco. It is possible to reduce the difference by reducing the radius of the trackmarks influence, click on the trackmark icon then click on advanced, the trigger radius setting will also influence trackmarks.

Cheers,
