Track Leaning

I was wondering how to get the train to lean when going around a fairly sharp curve or really any curve at all, as shown in this screenshot:

Any help is very much appreciated! :)

I think under the rules list, the title should read 'banking consists RUS, set the amount of lean for the train and save before driving.

this is the way it looks with a value of "2"

okay, so it does automatically lean, but the locomotives didn't. any suggestions on those?

Well, now I have a new goal. Some stuff just will not lean. One fine example is the Jointed Rail's P32s in Amtrak livery. I'll continue testing more items, I see some freight will not lean either, but I will relay what later.

Okay, so from what I have seen, most locomotives I've tried do not lean in curves with banking rules script, even at 0.75 setting. Also, some other rolling stock will not lean. So, I don't know if there is anything else to set, or look for to ensure it will work on certain train vehicles (locos and rolling stock/passenger cars)??? Oh well...

I tried both the suggested banking item, and the one I found already on my system...
Banking consists,<kuid2:82445:90003:3>
Banking consists RUS,<kuid:539196:100149>
both have the same thumbnail...

any item with a reversed bogey can not lean by this rule. this is probably something either not taken into account or simply not working in the game since... forever.

well, thank you VERY much... I didn't know this little tidbit was an influence on how it works. So, for trying to recognize items with reversed bogey, what is the most easy way to identify it? Something specific in the config.txt? I'll need to start looking now.

as always, great support from you!

yes usually config entries with 'reversed 1' in the bogey container, or for older configs a 'bogey-1-r' entry. it seems that having one bogey attachment point axis facing negative will nullify the pitch based on curvature function of trainz code. this has been brought to the attention of the devs before.

well, that is exactly what I witnessed for the last hour and a half now. Sadly, most of the Jointed Rail units (if not then all of them) do not allow the leaning in banking session rule. RRMods, they are about 50% or more allowing it. I'll just check out rolling stock next, then hang this idea up for something to think back on.
