Track height issue...

Now T:ANE I can get into
All of the track vertexes pictured below are at the same height, yet the one track continues to float over the other. I initially tried correcting this by raising/lowering the vertex, but that screwed up the height farther down the line.

Put in some extra vertices and match the same to your other ones. The track is bent over it's length and if the others are too far away you'll have trouble with the track heights where they cross.

I have encountered this same problem a lot too. Like John said, add some vertices near one another and make sure they're all the same height in that area. It can take some positioning, but it does the trick!
 
I always added a extra vertex on the bridges on grades making it level when it connects to other track...
also may note that buckling essect also happens with road splines too....when grading em....
